When it comes to enhancing your eye color, choosing the right eye shadow is a must. The question is “How do I do that?”
Let’s look at a color wheel (yes, I know it’s sounds like something from a high school science class, but just hear me out!). This wheel can help you pick out the best eye makeup shade to enhance your eyes. You want to choose a shade that is on the opposite side of the color wheel because contracting hues will draw attention to your eyes. Still doesn’t make sense? Keep reading!
Blue Eyed
Scroll up to the color wheel, what’s on the opposite end of Blue? ORANGE, try shades with orange/ light neutral tones (browns, bronze, shimmery champagne) to make those eyes really pop.
Green Eyed
Back to the wheel, and the opposite of Green is Red. Since red isn’t the most flattering shade you can go to purples and pinks and neutrals which will make those eyes even more vivid.
Gray Eyed
The ones with the most unique eye color. Your best bet would be shades and liners with steely hues, for example, mink gray, silver or frosty blue to amplify that unique eye color.
Brown Eyed
For you brown eyed ladies, you are the exception. Luckily brown eyes are the most versatile and almost every eye shadow color will work with you. To make your eyes lighter, try shades of green. To bring out the clarity of your eyes, use bronze or purples.
Don’t forget to blend in some black shadow at the crease and black eyeliner in the waterline to intensify those eyes.
