Being someone with genetic dark circles, concealing is a vital part of my makeup routine. And as a bridal makeup artist, it’s on top of a brides list to get rid of on her big day.
Why do we get dark circles?
We tend to blame the dark circles on exhaustion, lack of sleep or genetics. This is somewhat true but the truth is deeper than that, there have been studies linking those unwanted circles to aging (thinning of skin around the eye) and nutritional deficiency. Whatever the case is, how do I get rid of them?
Will they ever go away?
The never-ending struggle of trying to hide them, wishing they could disappear forever. Dark circles are very prominent among South Asian women due to genetics and bone structure. As much as we want those eye creams to work, the circles aren’t really going anywhere and are here to stay especially if it runs in the family.
Conceal them!
I’ll cut to the chase and let you know that I’ve tried many concealers but hands down Tarte Shape Tape Concealer is my favorite right now. A full-coverage, vegan, blendable concealer that instantly brightens, smooths & shapes skin. This formula is creamy, lightweight and has a satin-matte finish. A little goes a long way as the concealer spreads, not like the normal concealers you may pile on. For you dry skinned ladies, this is also perfect as it has some hydration. Not only does it perform the regular concealer duties like covering up those dark circles. But you can use it as a highlighting, sculpting, and contouring tool by using one or more lighter and darker shades to contour with.
Tarte Shape Tape for the win!
